JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE 

To deliver mechanical/piping engineering activities and deliverables for assigned projects and ensure timely completion to the required quality standards. 

 Dimensions: 

• Deliver Mechanical piping scope Package scope for the BN EPC1 project. 

• Work in a multi-discipline project team providing all necessary support towards ensuring quality work delivery on schedule. 

• Work and guide contractor team in delivering the mechanical/piping scope in line with project specifications. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Adhere to and work in line with company guidelines on Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) and Ethics & Compliance. 

• Drive the implementation of mechanical static requirements in the design, fabrication, testing, installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning of assigned project. Ensure the final products delivered meet the applicable code requirements as well as the project scope of work and specifications. 

• Provide support for the mechanical static activities during detail design, fabrication, testing, installation, and support the commissioning in accordance with Company policies and standards. 

• Address mechanical static related technical queries and clarification questions from vendors and contractors during the detailed design activity. 

• Set up and manage appropriate systems required to assure integrity of the assigned project scope and support offshore installation/construction in line with design. 

• Drive the mechanical static equipment sizing, selection, and work packs development for the project including strategy for early tie-ins, equipment layout, piping general arrangement and fit for purpose HVAC system design for Switchgear & Subsea Control Building (SSCB). 

• Participate in all project reviews providing mechanical static discipline inputs. 

• Drive the identification, maturation and deployment of value adding mechanical static related initiatives and technologies to optimize assigned project scope. 

• Contribute to the development and deployment of fit for purpose quality plan and Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) including materials management procedure for the Project. Provide mechanical static discipline support in multiple worksites for fabrication works including SSCB contractor. 

• Drive the identification and lateral application of Mechanical static related learnings from other projects.

 • Contribute to the management of change process to ensure technical integrity, efficiency, and safety of facilities. 

 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE 

The Principal Mechanical/Piping engineer shall have following qualifications and experiences: 

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering. 

• COREN Registered Engineer. 

• Medically Certified fit to work. 

• A minimum of 15 years of experience in design of offshore oil and gas production facilities with at least 10 years specifically in topsides design, layout optimization, and equipment optimization. 

• Proficiency in pipe stress analysis and review of Caser II report 

• Competency in 3D model review, pipe clash management and review of isometrics 

• Experience with piping specialty items, valves and vendor document review 

• Ability to evaluate pipe supports, spring hangers and FPSO movement/deflection impacts

 • Knowledge of welding, NDT requirements, and fabrication 

• Experience with brownfield projects and FPSO modification is highly desirable. 

• Experience in vendor management, technical bid evaluation, and FAT participation 

• Delivery of piping MTOs, material requisitions and project deliverables 

• Ability to support pre-commissioning, leak testing, and commissioning

 • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
