Reports Direct to: Head, Corporate Institutional Banking Department (CIBD)
Location: Accra/Tema/Kumasi

Job purpose

  •  The Relationship Manager is responsible for managing and retaining a portfolio of corporate customers in the various Corporate/Institutional Banking sectors, securing new customer business in Construction, Hospitality & Finance and increasing wallet-share of existing business while building and sustaining long term relationships founded on trust, reliable and efficient support.


Key responsibilities:

  • Drive Business Growth: Proactively initiate sales, cross-sell corporate banking products, and develop call plans to acquire and retain clients.
  • Client Portfolio Reviews: Conduct annual or interim reviews for both borrowing and non-borrowing clients to ensure alignment with bank requirements.
  • Product & Service Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date expertise on corporate banking offerings and seek continuous development to meet client needs effectively.
  • Credit & Risk Assessment: Gather and analyze financial data for credit applications, assess risk, and manage problem accounts within the portfolio.
  • Client Relationship Management: Foster strong relationships through excellent customer service, complaint resolution, and financial consultations.
  • Market Research & Prospecting: Research industry sectors, maintain a pipeline of potential clients, and identify high-priority customers for engagement.

Qualifications (Key technical skills/knowledge required for position)

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance or any related field.
  • Master’s degree in business administration, Finance or any related field.
  • Relevant professional certification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of five years relevant experience.
  • Good communication, writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong marketing and selling skills.
  • Interpretation and impact analysis of financial statements/ratios.
  • Persuasive, Self-motivated and high spirited.
  • Demonstrate objectivity and sound judgment.
