Location
This position is based in South Africa or Zimbabwe, with frequent travel.
About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Finance Manager to join our team. This is a critical role that will serve as the backbone of our financial and accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial & Accounting Process Management:
- Design, implement, and maintain a robust and scalable accounting and financial process across all active and future markets.
- Collaborate with Operations team to design and implement a comprehensive inventory management system.
- Oversee all global bookkeeping processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Team Leadership & Management:
- Onboard and manage country-level bookkeepers and accountants.
- Act as the central point of contact for business managers in multiple countries.
- Reporting & Analysis:
- Produce timely and accurate management accounts and financial reports.
- Collaborate with the CFO to prepare budgets and forecasts.
- External Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the main point person for outsourced tax and payroll consultants.
- Financial Strategy & Fundraising Support:
- Support the CFO in fundraising activities, including preparing financial models and due diligence materials.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years in finance or accounting, with a focus on multi-country operations.
- Proven experience in building and managing accounting processes from scratch.
- Experience managing and leading a team.
- Skills:
- High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Other:
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA) are a significant advantage.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently.
