About the Organisation
The Women’s Development Foundation (WDF) is a non-profit organization committed to empowering disadvantaged women through vocational training, skills development, and capacity-building initiatives. Its mission is to reduce poverty, build purpose, and create sustainable pathways to self-reliance for women across Ghana and beyond.
Role Overview
The CEO will provide overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for WDF. This role requires a transformational leader with strong expertise in vocational training, garment/textile production, or fashion and design, who can drive impact, build partnerships, mobilize funding, and scale operations to empower women sustainably.
Key Responsibilities
Program Growth & Strategy
- Design and deliver vocational training and empowerment program.
- Expand reach and impact through local and international collaborations.
- Build systems to support quality, scalable training initiatives.
Funding & Resource Mobilization
- Lead fundraising, grant applications, and donor engagement.
- Develop compelling proposals and maintain donor confidence.
- Ensure accountability and transparency in financial management.
Operations & Leadership
- Oversee daily programme operations and logistics.
- Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team.
- Drive efficiency, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy
- Position WDF as a leader in women’s empowerment and skills development.
- Build strong relationships with donors, NGOs, government, and corporates.
- Enhance WDF’s visibility through advocacy and branding.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with governance, donor, and legal requirements.
- Manage budgets, financial planning, and cost efficiency.
- Provide operational, financial, and impact reports to the Board.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Work, Education, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 7–10 years’ senior leadership experience in textiles, manufacturing, FMCG in line with NGOs, social enterprises, or skills-development programmes.
- Background in garment/textile manufacturing, fashion and design, or vocational training.
- Proven track record in fundraising, partnerships, business growth, operational restructuring and programme design.
- Strong financial management and cost-control experience.
- Demonstrated ability to scale initiatives and manage diverse teams.
