About the team
The Sustainable Programmes Department (SPD) offers both strategic and technical guidance in executing the WaterAid Ghana Program Plans. Essential to this department's role are program design, delivery, risk mitigation, project implementation and adaptive management. With a commitment to upholding WA Program Quality Standards, PMER Policy and Procedures, donor guidelines, and industry best practices. The department ensures that projects are designed and executed to deliver top-tier programs for the benefit of the underprivileged and vulnerable. SPD also ensures that WaterAid’s interventions and partnerships remain relevant and influence policy, practice and systems at various levels to ensure significant contribution towards the progressive attainment of the aims of the country programme strategy.
About the role
WASH Technical Coordinator is responsible for designing and implementing innovative, sustainable service delivery models that align with Country Programme objectives and meet the diverse needs of communities. This includes prioritising technologies that mitigate environmental and climate risks, ensuring robust safety measures during construction, and maintaining ecosystem and water resource protection. The coordinator will oversee feasibility assessments, risk analysis (including security, health, and environmental risks), and user consultations to design context-appropriate and inclusive WASH solutions.
