Job Role:
The Senior Sales Representative is an experienced sales professional responsible for driving revenue growth, managing key accounts, mentoring junior sales staff, and implementing strategic sales initiatives within an assigned territory. This role requires advanced sales expertise, leadership capabilities, and the ability to handle complex sales negotiations while consistently exceeding ambitious sales targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sales Leadership:
* Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to maximize revenue in assigned territory
* Lead sales initiatives and campaigns to penetrate new markets and customer segments
* Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitor activities to identify strategic opportunities
* Set ambitious sales goals and develop action plans to achieve them
* Contribute to departmental sales planning and forecasting processes
* Implement best practices and innovative sales approaches
Advanced Sales & Business Development:
* Manage and grow a portfolio of high-value key accounts and strategic customers
* Identify, qualify, and convert major sales opportunities with significant revenue potential
* Conduct complex sales presentations and negotiations with senior decision-makers
* Close high-value deals and manage enterprise-level sales cycles
* Develop customized solutions to meet sophisticated customer requirements
* Expand business through strategic partnerships and alliance development
* Achieve and exceed challenging individual and team sales targets consistently
Team Leadership & Mentorship:
* Mentor, coach, and guide junior sales representatives and new team members
* Share sales best practices, techniques, and market insights with the team
* Conduct on-the-job training and accompany junior staff on client visits
* Provide constructive feedback and support to improve team performance
* Lead by example in demonstrating professional sales conduct and ethics
* Participate in recruitment and selection of new sales team members
* Contribute to developing sales training materials and programs
Market Intelligence & Strategic Reporting:
* Conduct in-depth competitor analysis and market research
* Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging opportunities
* Gather and analyze customer feedback for product development insights
* Prepare comprehensive sales reports, forecasts, and performance analyses
* Present strategic recommendations to senior management
* Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
* Contribute to sales strategy development based on market intelligence
Project & Campaign Management:
* Lead special sales projects and promotional campaigns
* Coordinate product launches and market expansion initiatives
* Organize and participate in major trade shows, exhibitions, and corporate events
* Develop and execute territory-specific marketing activities
* Manage promotional budgets and measure campaign effectiveness
* Collaborate with marketing team on targeted campaigns
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales Management, or related field (required)
* MBA or professional sales certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Salesperson) is a strong advantage
* Advanced training in sales management, negotiation, or key account management
* Minimum of 3+ years of progressive sales experience with proven track record
* At least 2-3 years in senior sales or key account management role
* Demonstrated history of consistently exceeding sales targets
* Experience managing high-value accounts and complex sales cycles
* Industry-specific experience (FMCG, pharmaceuticals, telecoms, B2B services, etc.) highly preferred
* Experience in team leadership, coaching, or mentoring
* Track record of opening new markets or launching new products
